Strum Rhythm 2
Notice that the upstrums in this chord progression only include the bottom three strings (while the downstrums use all of the notes availabe in the chords). This is a common technique when strumming up, which is often softer compared to strumming down. This is true because strumming up is opposing gravity while strumming down is helped by gravity. This goes hand in hand with the meter (time signature) where the downbeats are usually stronger and the notes that fall in between the beats generally have less dynamic stress. Taking advantage of this natural tendency while strumming can make your playing sound more "musical" and natural. It's also wise to strum louder on the first downbeat of each measure to give the music more forward momentum.
