Melodic Dictation, Simple Meter, Easy Examples

These examples exhibit the following characteriestics,

  • Four measures long
  • Simple duple, triple and quadruple meters with quarter note beats
  • Whole, dotted-half, half, quarter, dotted-quarter, and eighth notes
  • Major keys of C, G, and F
  • Bass and treble clefs
  • Tempo = 60 bpm

Grab some blank staff paper (get some here - http://jlamusic.com/Learn/staffpaper/staffpaper.html) and create a blank 4-measure line for each of the following examples. The starting note, clef, and time signature is provided for you. Play the audio clip as many times as you wish (the standard number for most tests is four) and check your work by clicking on the answer link. Good luck!
