Melodic Dictation, Simple Meter, Intermediate Examples

These examples exhibit the following characteristics,

  • Four measures long unless otherwise indicated
  • Simple duple, triple, or quadruple meters
  • Whole notes to as short as sixteenth notes, and triplets
  • Major and minor keys

Grab some blank staff paper (get some here - http://jlamusic.com/Learn/staffpaper/staffpaper.html) and create a blank line for each of the following examples. The starting note, clef, time and key signatures, and length are displayed for you. Play the audio clip as many times as you wish (the standard number for most tests is four) and check your work by clicking on the answer link. Good luck!
