Rhythmic Dictation, Compound Meter, One Beat Examples
Listen to each recording as many times as you wish while you try to dictate the rhythm. Each of these is only one beat long in compound meter ( time signature) (At fast tempi the top numer of three is an exception to the rule that says that this is simple meter. In this case it represents three equal divisions of the measure, equaling one beat.)
The idea is to become proficient at typical rhythmmic units that last only one beat, which may give you an improved ability to dictate longer rhythms.
