Leilão de Jardim (text by Cecília Meirelles), for Various Voices and Guitar, C 55 a, C 55 c, and C 55 e
These are three different settings by Ernst Mahle using a text by Cecília Meirelles The same melody is used for all three settings. One is for high voice and guitar, one for low voice and guitar, and a third one for three voices and guitar. The high and low voice versions are from 1971, while the version for three voices and guitar is dated 1981.
The guitar parts are similar in the two versions for single voices, with very subtle and skilled changes made by Mahle to account for transposition. The guitar parts are more difficult in the accompaniments for the single voices, while the guitar accompaniment for three voices is much simpler. A comparison of these three arrangements shows how skilled Mahle is at writing for the guitar.
All of these versions are available below in full score versions which may be used as performance scores. The music was engraved by Mahle himself and is available for free download. The two versions for single voices and guitar are computer-engraved by Mahle, while the third one, for three voices and guitar, appears to be handwritten by Mahle himself.
